Abstrak

Industri gula aren di Desa Bengkaung, Kabupaten Lombok Barat, telah lama menjadi tulang punggung ekonomi lokal. Namun, fluktuasi harga dan perubahan iklim mengancam stabilitasnya. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini menjelajahi diversifikasi produk melalui pembuatan selai gula aren (SEGA) dan dampaknya terhadap perekonomian petani. Metode pengabdian mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan, kerjasama dengan pihak terkait, pengembangan materi promosi, penyusunan program sosialisasi, pembentukan kelompok diskusi, pelatihan praktis, dan monitoring. Hasil kegiatan mencakup data UMKM gula aren di Desa Bengkaung dan pengembangan SEGA sebagai strategi diversifikasi. Identifikasi kebutuhan menyoroti potensi pasar untuk SEGA. Kerjasama dengan pemerintah desa dan universitas menguatkan aktivitas. Pengembangan materi promosi melibatkan brosur dan leaflet. Program sosialisasi mencakup pemaparan materi, diskusi, dan demonstrasi pembuatan SEGA. Demonstrasi memberikan pengalaman langsung, meningkatkan keterampilan praktis, dan memfasilitasi pemahaman holistik. Praktek langsung oleh peserta mengintegrasikan konsep teoritis ke keterampilan praktis. Fokus kegiatan ini menekankan kontribusi positif terhadap ekonomi lokal melalui diversifikasi produk. Sehingga ini dapat menjadi pedoman bagi komunitas pertanian serupa dalam menghadapi tantangan ekonomi.
